The local starlings and rock pigeons decided a while back that the apartment building roof of SJ Park was the perfect hangout for their various activities of roosting, nesting and “pooping” – unfortunately with dire noise and health consequences for the residents.

The Park’s Body Corporate have an obligation to ensure that all the residents are protected against infestation and/or infections caused by the birds. This is even more urgent now, given COVID-19, to prevent any unnecessary illness. They agreed that urgent intervention was required and thus, the bird party was brought to an end by means of a professional company that did a fantastic job in cleaning up the mess that was left. All verandas, shutters, lights, chimneys and rooftops were bird-proofed by using spikes, wires, wax, propellers and galvanized and white mesh where required.
